There is a not very positive opposite situation going on right now in Phu Quoc. While the amount of fresh water is gradually decreasing, it seems like wastewater consecutive increasing.
Wastewater treatment systems on the island might be confusing to some people. In general, there will be household and industrial wastewater, that is classified and then treated at wastewater management factory. With tourism increasing rapidly, there will be times when wastewater cannot be treated promptly and can be discharged directly into the environment. This is something no one wants. Because the consequences it brings are unimaginable.

The huge amount of garbage entering the landfill is increasing, wastewater from the garbage pours out, polluting the water in the surrounding low-lying areas. It causes an awful odor, with the smell affecting everyday life for residents. Especially during this rainy season, stormwater combined sewage overflow causes sudden spikes in bacteria and other pollutants in the water, affect people’s life. More than that, industrial wastewater pipes discharge directly into the sand, causing heavy pollution that we cannot see from above. Anyone who often visit Phu Quoc will notice that the water color has changed rapidly over the past few years, and the sand has also gradually turned black.
Considering that what attracts visitors to this island is the pristine beaches and crystal-clear ocean waters, harming the environment could make these destinations less attractive to tourists, which would affect the local economy.
Although we know that nature has a very strong neutralizing ability, it takes time. At its present intensity, nature's only solution is to make all beautiful scenes die and disappear, the human silhouette was absent and gradually restored. But instead of sitting and waiting for nature to recover on its own, we really need practical activities from now on. Classify garbage, do not discharge wastes into the sea, improve the sewage management system. Let act together to protect the creatures in the environment around us, each person has awareness, the small island has more faith.
